ITINERARY DETAILSDay 1: San Pedro de Atacama – Hito Cajón – ColchaniPickup from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama (city center) and transfer to the Hito Cajón border. Here, you will switch vehicles for the journey to the hotel in Colchani (without a guide). Day 2: Colchani – DesertAfter breakfast, visit the Train Cemetery in Uyuni. Then, explore Colchani village to see manual salt processing and artisan markets. You will see salt piles, saltwater springs, the Dakar monument, the world flag plaza, and the first salt hotel (now a museum). Visit giant salt structures (stairway, pyramid, clock, hand, condor) and enjoy a picnic lunch on the salt flats. After lunch, visit Incahuasi Island (dry season only, April-Nov) to hike among giant cacti. On the return, stop for photos and visit the Ollague Volcano viewpoint and the highland lagoons (Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda, Negra) before heading to the hotel. Day 3: Desert – Hito Cajón – San Pedro de AtacamaAfter breakfast, visit the Siloli Desert to see the Stone Tree. Continue to the Red Lagoon, geysers, Polques hot springs, and the Dalí Rocks. Then, head to the Licancabur Volcano viewpoint to observe the Green Lagoon and, finally, visit the White Lagoon. Transfer at the Hito Cajón border around 12:00 p.m. for a private transfer to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. |
