![]() Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valle, Lake Titicaca (12 Days / 11 Nights) Itinerary:Day 01. - Arrive in LimaYou will be greeted by one of our friendly drivers upon your arrival to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima , Peru. From there you will be driven in comfort by private car to your 5 star hotel in Miraflores, the most exclusive, upscale residential and commercial districts of Lima. Our staff will assist you in checking in to your hotel. Day 02. - Lima City TourAfter breakfast you will be met at your hotel to begin a guided tour of Lima, the fabulous “City of the Kings”. Visit the Plaza Mayor de Lima, the 16th century Cathedral of gold, the catacombs at the Convento de San Francisco and the Museum of Gold. These are the most popular tourist attractions in Lima. The tour will end in one of the wealthiest residential and most beautiful districts in Lima, Miraflores. There visit the only pre-Inca ruin remaining, Huaca Pucllana. Constructed in the 2nd century AD it was considered by the Incas as a “Sacred Town” and was a busy ceremonial and administrative center. You will be returned to your hotel at the end of the City Tour. Day 03. - Lima - Cusco (Cusco City Tour)After breakfast our driver will greet you at your hotel and drive you in private comfort to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima. There you will be escorted into the terminal for your 55-minute flight into the Andes to the majestic city of Incan antiquity, Cusco, Peru. Our staff will greet you at the Cusco airport and escort you to your 5 star luxury hotel in the heart of Cusco. There we will assist you in checking. At this point of your visit it is essential to take time to enjoy complimentary coca tea and lie down in your room and slowly acclimate to Cusco’s elevation. After a nice afternoon rest you will be able to take a tour of the city. This will include visiting the main square; Plaza de Armas and the temple of the sun (Koricancha). Then take a short ride north of Cusco with your guide to visit the famous archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman , Quenqo, Tambomachay and Pucapucara. You will be returned to your hotel at the end of the tour. Day 04. - Sacred Valley TourAfter breakfast begin your private tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas north of Cusco. First stop will be the famous Indian market of Pisaq, a beautiful place to observe archaeological remains (the best days to visit are Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays). In Urubamba enjoy a wonderfully prepared typical Andean buffet lunch at a fine hacienda style restaurant. Throughout the day stop at scenic overlooks for photo opportunities of the mountains and the traditional, colorfully dressed Quechua women, their children and alpacas. They are happy to pose for pictures along these stops in exchange for 1 sole per person and alpaca you take a picture of. The next major stop is the enormous walled city of Ollantaytambo where you will be able to appreciate the amazing complexity of Inca construction. If time permits you may visit the traditional town of Chincheros and see the fine handmade items made there. At the end of the day after arriving back in Cusco we will see you safely back to your hotel. Day 05. - Cusco - Machu Picchu - CuscoAfter breakfast you will be greeted in your hotel and taken to the Poroy train station 30 minutes west of Cusco. Here you will board the train to Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu, one of the most remarkable and enigmatic archaeological sites in the world. Few works made by man are as harmonious with nature as the citadel of Machu Picchu. The “Lost City” saddles the top of a flattened mountain. Enjoy the wonders of Machu Picchu with your guide to see the Sacred District, the Popular District to the south, and the District of Royalty in the urban sector. Visit the Temple of the Sun, the Room of the Three Windows and Temple of the Condor. Besides the outstanding archaeological remains see the spectacular panoramic views of the jungle mountains and the Vilcanota River (also known as River Urubamba) below. After your guided tour and exploring Machu Picchu on your own return to Aguas Caliente by bus and board for your train back to Cusco. You will be greeted at the train station in Poroy and taken back to your Hotel in Cusco . Note.- If you desire to stay one night in Machu Picchu this can be arranged. Day 06. - Cusco - PunoAfter breakfast you will be taken to the Cusco train station to board the luxurious Andean Explorer train to the historic city of Puno. Puno sits on the shores of Lake Titicaca and is the capital and largest city in the Puno Region. As you climb to 3,860 meters the impressive smooth ascent is accompanied by the magnificent Andes bordering deep valleys. Arriving at the plateau you will be able to appreciate the vicuñas and alpacas. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board the train before it makes the stop in The Station of La Raya that also offers a wonderful panoramic view. The Station of the Ray is the highest point of the trip at 4,319 meters above sea level. You will be met at the Station of La Raya and taken to the luxurious hotel Libertador in Puno. Day 07. - Puno- Lake Titicaca - Uros and Taquile IslandAfter Breakfast its time for a boat ride on Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world. Here you will see the 41 floating islands of Uros. The Uros people, an aquatic tribe, have conserved their old way of life and still live and maintain these man-made islands and depend on them for their survival. Later we’ll visit the island of Taquile. Taquile is 45 Km from the shores of Puno (and curiously free of dogs) and is inhabited by native Quechuas. Here we’ll be able to appreciate their fine hand-woven textiles and clothes predominantly made by men. At night we’ll return to Puno to rest and dine in your 5 star hotel. Day 08. - Puno - Sillustani - ArequipaAfter breakfast you will be greeted and taken to visit the Pre-Inca chullpa tombs at Sillustani on Lake Umayo. There your guide will explain the circular monument tombs that emphasized the circleof life in the cylindrical monuments at Sillustani for about an hour. Afterward continue to the Juliaca airport for your short flight to the :White City” of Arequipa. At the airport in Arequipa, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to you 5 star hotel. Day 09. - Arequipa City TourArequipa, “The White City “ is so named for being constructed predominantly of the stone Sillar. Arequipa, with its pleasant climate, is the second largest and one of the most beautiful cities in Peru. We’ll begin our city tour with a visit to the Cathedral Santa Catalina Convent and the museum. There we’ll be able to observe the Juanita Mummy, one of oldest preserved mummies of South America. Also be sure to observe the majestic presence of “El Misti”, the snow covered inactive volcano Arequipa sits at the base of. You’ll will be returned to your 5 star hotel at the end of the City Tour. Day 10. - Arequipa - Colca CanyonAfter breakfast travel to Colca Canyon, 160 Km NW of Arequipa in a comfortable private Car. During the trip visit the National Reserva of Pampa Cañahuas where you can observe groups of Alpacas and Vicuñas. Passing through Vizcachani see another spectacular view of the Andes that offers a panoramic view of the White Mountain range. Next arrive at the valley town of Chivay, the capital of the Caylloma province in the Arequipa region. At dusk arrive at the Colca Lodge where it is possible to relax in the hot springs. Day 11. - Colca Canyon - Cruz del Condor or Cross of the Condor.After breakfast enjoy the scenic overlook at the “Cross of the Condor“, a few kilometers from Cabana Conde, where the Colca Canyon starts. In this place hopefully witness a wonderful spectacle - the flight of the condors. Although the walls are not as shear as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, Colca Canyon is twice as deep. If time permits visit the hanging pre – Incan tombs, the small cities of Pinchillo, Maca and the town of Shames Anvil whose church contains Cusqueñan paintings. After Lunch return to Arequipa in a comfortable private car and rest in your 5 star hotel. Day 12. - Arequipa - LimaAfter breakfast you will be driven to the Arequipa airport for your return flight to Lima. At Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru you will transfer to your flight home. End of Our Service. Included:
