Our Huacrapucara Trek is a private, remote, horesback riding, rafting (or canoeing), hiking and camping trek along a spectacular canyon 3 hours SE of Cusco. Without any tourists nearby you will see more amazing Inca ruins built into sheer canyon walls and the archaeological complex of Huacrapucara. This tour is a tranquil ecological and cultural adventure for those looking to go beyond the average tourist experience and see more of the Region of Cusco, its rich history, people and magnificent landscapes.
Day 01.- Cusco - Rafting or canoeing Circuit of Four Lakes - Acomayo (View beautiful scenery)
After a delicious local breakfast you will be driven to Chuquicahuana to beging rafting or canoeing (depending on the water levels at that time of year). You will see breathtaking views of the cayon, waterfalls and deep gourges as you pass through small villages on the way to the town of Acomayo. There enjoy a delicious lunch and visit one of the few places that keeps the painting of the 14 Incas of Peru made by the famous painter Tadeo Escalante.
Day 02.- Acomayo, horseback riding / walk Huacrapucara (Small Machu Picchu) Vista Pumas.
After an early breakfast you will be taken to the community of Huascar, a traditional village typical of the area. From here, begin the long walk to the canyon Huacrapucara via one of the most beautiful landscapes. At Huacrapucara you’ll see one of the deepest canyons with the Apurimac River at the bottom. This enigmatic place, with its panoramic views is the perfect place to enjoy your lunch. At night, with luck, you may see some cougars who are the guardians of this place.
Day 03.- Visit the archaeological complex of Huacrapucara-Return to Acomayo.
After breakfast visit the archaeological complex of Huacrapucara. This gravity defying gravity and the incredible view you will have will give you a better appreciation of the beautiful canyon and exotic plants that surround you. After lunch return to Acomayo where you will spend the night.
Day 04.- Deep Sea Fishing in the Rio Apurimac – Acomayo - Cusco.
Early in the morning you will go to illpinto. There is a warm climate here close to the Apurimac River and an excellent place to start fishing. In the afternoon return to your hotel in Cusco.
