Traffic in international fights up 14.93% in Jan-Nov 2011

Lima, Jan. 10.

International passenger traffic in Peru amounted to five million passengers, between January and November 2011, which represented a 14.93 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier, when four million passengers were transported, the General Administration of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) reported Monday. Only in November 2011 air traffic grew 9.69 percent to 472,066 compared to the same month 2010, which registered a total of 430,371 transported passengers.

In the last ten years, the flow of passengers in November showed an upward trend, according to DGAC. The largest number of passenger recorded in 2002 - 20011 period was in November 2011, which transported 472,066 passengers.

However, the highest percentage growth registered in this decade (25.63%) was achieved in 2004.

In November 2011, the cities that registered more traffic were Santiago de Chile with 57,627 passengers (up 20.55% compared to November 2010) and Miami, United States with 43,981 passengers (4.23%)
