Taca to open new air routes from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, Arequipa

Lima, Nov. 22 (ANDINA). Since January 1, 2012, Taca Airlines will begin interregional flights from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (Madre de Dios) and to Arequipa, in response to the highest demand of domestic and foreign tourists along with corporate passengers.

Sales Director at Taca South America, Nani Garrues, pointed out that the route to Puerto Maldonado will have a daily frequency, while flights to Arequipa will be operated three times weekly.

Moreover, the airline reported that in January 2012 it will resume flights from Lima to Juliaca (Puno), which will allow Taca to consolidate its presence in the country´s southern circuit.

"These three destinations and the interconnection with Cusco will contribute to increase internal and receptive tourism. We want to increase connectivity for business passengers and to attract more tourists as well as to boost the triangulation between Puerto Maldonado and Arequipa," Garrues stated.

In 2012, Taca will continue with this growth strategy, strengthening Lima´s hub both in national and international routes, seeking to improve its service pattern and the offer of the most important markets of this region.
