Peru’s foreign trade minister to attend Spanish Fitur fair

Lima, Jan. 09.

Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Jose Luis Silva will travel to the city of Madrid (Spain) from January 15 to 19 to attend the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2012, according to an ordinance published on Monday by the Peruvian Presidency of Council of Ministers (PCM).

Minister Silva will also take part in business meetings with Spanish tourism investors with the main purpose to promote Peru as a tourist destination.

During the absence of Silva, the head of Transports and Communications Carlos Paredes will be the acting minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism.

Fitur is a meeting point for tourism professionals who can establish lines of action, strategies and business alliances to energize and consolidate the tourism business, innovating to answer the changing demands of the market.

Tourism promotion agencies, operators, hotels, travel agencies, consultancies and experts in international tourism management and development will all meet in Madrid for Fitur.
