ITINERARY BY DAY
Day 01: Arrive in Lima.
You will be greeted by one of our friendly drivers upon your arrival to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru.
From there you will be driven in comfort by private car to your 5 star hotel in Miraflores, the most exclusive, upscale residential and commercial district of Lima. Our staff will assist you in checking in to your hotel.
Day 02: Lima City Tour.
After breakfast you will be met at your hotel to begin a guided tour of Lima, the fabulous “City of the Kings”. Visit the Plaza Mayor de Lima, the 16th century Cathedral of gold, the catacombs at the Convento de San Francisco,, Huaca Pucllana and end in Miraflores at your hotel’s front door..
Day 03: Lima – Cusco (Cusco City Tour).
After breakfast and check out return by private car to the Lima airport for your 1 hr flight over the Andes to historic Cusco, Peru. You will be greeted at Cusco’s airport and driven to your 5 star hotel near the main square.
After an afternoon rest you will be taken an a private tour of the City of Lima including visiting the main square; Plaza de Armas, the temple of the sun (Koricancha) and Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Tambomachay and Pucapucara outside the city.
You will be returned to your hotel at the end of the tour.
Day 04: Sacred Valley Tour.
After breakfast begin your private tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas north of Cusco. First stop will be the famous Indian market of Pisaq.
In Urubamba enjoy a wonderfully prepared typical Andean buffet lunch at a fine hacienda style restaurant. Throughout the day stop at scenic overlooks for photo opportunities of the mountains and the traditional, colorfully dressed Quechua women, their children and alpacas.
The next major stop is the enormous walled city of Ollantaytambo where you will be able to appreciate the amazing complexity of Inca construction. If time permits you may visit the traditional town of Chinchero and see the fine handmade items made there. At the end of the day after arriving back in Cusco we will see you safely back to your hotel.
Day 05: Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco.
After breakfast you will be greeted in your hotel and taken to the Poroy train station near Cusco to board your train to Aguas Calientes.
Experience the wonders of Machu Picchu with your private guide. The Sacred District, the Popular District to the south, the urban and farming sectors, Temple of the Sun, the Room of the Three Windows and Temple of the Condor will all be explained to you while being surrounded by panoramic views of the jungle mountains and the Vilcanota River (Urubamba River) below.
After your guided tour and exploring Machu Picchu on your own return to Aguas Caliente by bus and board for your train back to Cusco.
You will be greeted at the train station in Poroy and taken back to your Hotel in Cusco.
Note.- If you desire to stay one night in Machu Picchu this can be arranged.
Day 06: Cusco – Puno.
After breakfast you will be taken to the Cusco train station to board the luxurious Andean Explorer train to the historic city of Puno on the shores of Titicaca lake. Puno is the capital and largest city in the Puno Region.
Your train will gradually ascend to a colder 3,860 meters in the magnificent Andes that border deep valleys. You will see sheep, vicuña, llama and alpaca grazing along the way.
Halfway to Puno at the highest point (4319 meters) you will stop in La Raya for panoramic views of the mountains and buy more souvenirs! You will be met at Puno’s train station and taken to check in to your 5 star hotel.
Day 07: Puno- Titicaca lake – Uros and Taquile Island.
After breakfast you will be taken on a motor yacht tour of Lake Titicaca. Bring brimmed hats, sunscreen and jackets today. It will be very sunny and cold.
On the highest lake in the world you will visit some of the 41 floating islands of Uros. The Uros people are an aquatic tribe and have conserved their old way of life by living on their made by hand reed islands.
Next visit is the island of Taquile, 45 Km from Puno. Curiously dog free and inhabited by native Quechuas you’ll be able to appreciate their fine hand-woven textiles and clothes predominantly made by men. At night you will return to Puno to rest and dine in your 5 star hotel.
Day 08: Puno – Sillustani – Arequipa.
After breakfast you will be greeted and taken to visit the Pre-Inca chullpa tombs at Sillustani on Lake Umayo. There your guide will explain the circular monument tombs that signified the circle of life at Sillustani.
Afterward continue to the Juliaca airport for your short flight to the “White City” of Arequipa. You will be met in the Arequipa airport and transferred to your fine hotel by private car.
Day 09: Arequipa City Tour.
Arequipa “The White City “ got its name from construction primarily of the stone Sillar. Arequipa has a warm, pleasant climate and is Peru’s second largest and one of its most beautiful cities. Visit to the Cathedral Santa Catalina Convent and the museum.
See the Juanita, South America’s oldest preserved Mummy.
Arequipa’s 3 inactive volcanos are always visible. Snow covered El Misti is the most prominent. You’ll will be returned to your hotel at the end of the City Tour.
Day 10: Arequipa – Colca Canyon.
After breakfast travel to Colca Canyon, 160 Km NW of Arequipa in by private van. Visit the National Reserva of Pampa Cañahuas and see groups of Alpacas and beautiful Vicuñas.
Passing through Vizcachani are more spectacular panoramic views of the Andes and the White Mountain range. Arrive to Chivay, the capital of the Caylloma province in the Arequipa region. At dusk arrive at your luxury hotel and enjoy the hot springs.
Day 11: Colca Canyon – Cruz del Condor or Cross of the Condor.
After breakfast enjoy the scenic overlook at the “Cross of the Condor” where the canyon begins, a few kilometers from Cabana Conde where the Colca Canyon starts.
Hopefully you will be fortunate to see condors flying through the pass looking for updrafts and food.
Although the walls are not as shear as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, Colca Canyon is twice as deep.
If time permits visit the hanging pre – Incan tombs, the small towns of Pinchillo, Maca and the town of Shames Anvil whose church contains Cusqueñan paintings.
After Lunch return to Arequipa in a comfortable private car and rest in your 5 star hotel.
Day 12: Arequipa – Lima.
After breakfast you will be driven to the Arequipa airport for your return flight to Lima. At Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima. Stay in the terminal and check in at the counter.
