Day 01 \ City Tour Iquitos.

Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Iquitos. First take a tour around the centre of the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, many from the from the rubber boom. After the tour have dinner in one of the nice restaurants in the city center.

Day 02 \ Walk and learn about medicinal plants in the Amazon.

After breakfast in the hotel transfer to the lodge by boat down the Amazon River. Visit a 'paiche' fish farm. Paiche is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. During the transfer we will note various different communities on the banks of the Amazon. After arriving at the Amazon Botanical Lodge we will be welcomed with a local drink and will be shown our rooms to settle in. Later we will take the 'medicinal plant' walk and get to know such plants as 'uña de gato', 'sangre de grado' and 'clavo huasca' amongst others. Enjoy spectacular views of the Amazon from a well placed viewpoint and finish the day with a night walk to see tarantulas, insects and alligators.

Day 03 \ Bird watching, jungle walks, see giant trees and Ayahuasca ceremony.

After breakfast see the local birds in their natural habitat. Take a walk deep into the jungle to find the giant trees - including the voluptuous and impressive Ceiba-Lupuna. Take in the local flora and fauna then tour down the river to see an artisan press in which juice is extracted from the sugar cane and where various derived products are manufactured like rum and molasses. Take a night trip in a canoe around the lodge and enjoy the sounds of the forest at night. Ayahuasca ceremony begins at approx 21:00.

Day 04 \Yagua tribe.

Visit the native Yagua tribe and discover their methods of manufacturing artisan products and their ability with the blow-pipe. Visit the monkey island before returning to the airport.
