
Manaus (Manaus in Portuguese) is a city in northwestern Brazil, the state capital of Amazonas, near the Black River confluence with the Amazon River. It is an important port in developing the region and it can access the transatlantic. Manaus was founded by Portuguese in the year 1669 and currently has an estimated population of 1.7 million.
