Geographic Location


Known world-wide for its sensual, lyrical, poetic and melancholic dance, the Argentina tango describes an important part of the cultural identity of its people. Climate

Argentina has a variety of climates due to it being over 5,000km from north to south of widely varying elevations. Generally the climate is predominantly temperate with extremes ranging from subtropical in the north to subpolar in the far south. Northern Argentina is characterized as having very hot, humid summers with mild drier winters, and is subject to periodic droughts. Central Argentina has hot summers with thunderstorms (in western Argentina producing some of the world's largest hail), and cool winters. The southern regions have warm summers and cold winters with heavy snowfall, especially in mountainous zones. Higher elevations at all latitudes experience cooler conditions. From November through February southern Argentina experiences up to nineteen hours of daylight.

System of Government

In its article first, the National Constitution establishes that the Argentina Nation adopts for its government the Representative form, Republican and Federal. Republican because it is the town that has the power. Representative because those that govern are the representatives of the town. Federal because a central government for all the country exists, but each province conserves its autonomy and has an own government. As much in the national level as provincial three powers exist: Executive, Legislative and Judicial. Executive authority: The president and the vice-president are chosen by a period of four years by direct popular vote, in double return.
